Volunteer your time
The Office of Enterprise Development offers many opportunities to volunteer. From helping out with one of our many events to researching exciting new technologies, there’s plenty for everyone to do! Internships are also a great way to learn about our center, what we do, and the future of biotech and how it will impact our community and region. The skills you gain could help you land a great career in this field, and networking opportunities abound while you’re working with us.
Donate money
Financial contributions can be given to the OED for general operating purposes or earmarked for a specific program or project. We are happy to work with you to determine how your gift will be used. If you would like to make a financial contribution, you can contact the director of the Office of Enterprise Development at 412-623-3204, or by email at oed@otm.tt.pitt.edu.
Lend your expertise
The OED often seeks the pro bono expertise of others to help us with some of our more complicated cases. It offers you exposure to some of the opportunities coming out of the university and gives you the inside track when these entities are ripe for paid consulting services. Regardless of your area of expertise, there are opportunities for all specialties.
Be our guest!
If you have expertise in an area and would like to speak to our group of budding entrepreneurs, give us a call and we'll work with you to develop a presentation suitable for our audience. Opportunities are available often to address budding bio-entrepreneurs in person. Presentations must be informative in nature and not solicitations or advertisements for your business.
Write an article
Our bi-weekly newsletter is a another great forum in which to communicate your expertise to our audience. Topics can range from basic business concepts to start-up advice. Articles must be informative and permission must be given to post these on our website, with a link to your business.
Mentor a budding entrepreneur
The OED links experienced business people with scientists in need of advice, assistance and connections. Sign up to be on our mentor list.
Share your success with our audience
